just because. . .

hey, look! here is a totally abandoned blog!!!

i wonder how many abandoned blogs are out there, taking up useless space in the cyber universe.  truly, the only reason i am posting anything on here is so that i won’t be horribly embarrassed if someone actually clicks through over to this blog from one of the comments i have posted.  but i can’t promise to do anything with any regularity.  

in the meantime, i at least do twitter fairly consistently.  that’s all i can commit to right now.  once in a while i might update the wedding blog.  i thought i would use it more, but alas, wedding planning is kind of a big pain in the butt and it’s sucking up all my extra time.  and i have five baby bunnies to look after, too.

my totally lucid dream:

OK, I found something to post.  A few months ago, I had a TOTALLY lucid dream, and I blogged about it:

Hey, check this out – I’m dreaming.  Cool! Hey. . . If I’m dreaming, that means I can do anything.  What do I want to do?  Fly! I want to fly. (starts to fly) Man, here I am, aware that I’m dreaming, and all I want to do is fly.  I could do anything.  But I think I really want to fly.  Besides, nothing else is going on in this dream.  Oh, that reminds me, I’ll have to remember that last bit about the computers when I wake up (note: I don’t).  Hey, look -- I’m flying, (view dollies up, way up, and pans down on Monterey Park.)  So, if I KNOW that I’m dreaming, how am I going to keep from waking up?  Oh, I know, I’ll just look really intently, pay close attention to what’s happening.  Wow, everything is so vivid!  And so clear! And look at all that detail! Wow, I can read the sign on that store down there. I can’t BELIEVE all this detail, and everything is so clear. How am I creating all of this detail in my mind? Or am I just remembering it?  But, I’ve never actually seen it from this angle before. Woah, I’m getting too low, looks like I’m going to crash.  Ok, just go up.  There we go.  Oh, too high, don’t like this.  There we go, floating right over the city.  I really think the thing I like to do best in my dreams is fly – this is so much fun!!!  Oh shoot, I think I’m starting to wake up.  OK, just look at the landscape, focus on the details of the dream, focus, focus. (a loud noise happens in the outside world) darn it! I think I’m waking up!! (wakes up)

And that was literally the lucid part of my dream.  Weird, eh? I like lucid dreams, but this the MOST lucid one I’ve had for a while.  Not only was I aware that I was dreaming, but I was even aware that I was starting to slip out of the REM state.  Do lucid dreams mean anything? I wonder. .

email posting to blogger does indeed work! now if i only had something interesting to comment about.  all in good time, all in good time. . .

those email posting blues

So as to try to maintain some sort of an internet presence, and yet keep myself from hours of endless time waste-age via the internet, i am going to try to revive my Blogging By Email and Phone habits.  

First, let’s see if email posting even still works for Blogger. . .

i’m supposed to be able to blog by email.  which would be good because i shouldn’t be bouncing around on the internet when i’m supposed to be working.  

anyhow, this is just a note to say that my co workers in tibet are having a horrible time.  people are being jailed, beaten, quarantined, they can’t get food.  we are trying to get some of them out and to safety  say a prayer for them.  crazy times in tibet.

way to go, verizon customer service -

so i went to the verizon store because the end of my antennae had come off.  based on years of conditioning with sprint, i fully expected to have to pay $30 for the missing piece which they would then have to order and i’d have to come back to the store for them to install.  

imagine my surprise when tey gave me a brand-new phone!!  which is a very good thing, because my protective window for the camera was also broken.  about ten minutes later i left the store with a brand new phone.  go verizon!  i love nice customer service! =)

repainting. . .

so my apartment complex owners decided that it was a good idea to repaint the complex.  that’s all well and good but the nasty part was the high pressure washing they did to prep the walls.  i’ve had to constantly move stuff so that it wont’ be destroyed, and to make matters worse, when they finally DID water-blast my back porch, i found that my back door is, alas, NOT water tight.  water – apparently under great pressure - came flying into the kitchen.  fortunately i happened to be in the kitchen, so i flung myself against the door to try to keep the water out.  it was like being on the titanic or something.  when the blasting finally stopped, there was at least an inch of water on my floor.   but for my neighbors who WEREN’T home  to throw their body weight against the whatever-PSI that was blasting at their back doors, well, I don’t know HOW many inches of indoor flash-flood they will come home to.  it’s not going to be a pretty sight this evening. . .

FW: Help Save Pandora and Internet Radio - PLEASE HELP!

I'm writing today to ask for your help.  The survival of Pandora and all of Internet radio is in jeopardy because of a recent decision by the Copyright Royalty Board in Washington, DC to almost triple the licensing fees for Internet radio sites like Pandora.  The new royalty rates are irrationally high, more than four times what satellite radio pays and broadcast radio doesn't pay these at all.  Left unchanged, these new royalties will kill every Internet radio site, including Pandora. In response to these new and unfair fees, we have formed the SaveNetRadio Coalition, a group that includes listeners, artists, labels and webcasters.  I hope that you will consider joining us. that sound you hear . . .

is my life coming to a screeching halt.  

my internet is down.   i almost don’t know how to function.  my mom went and goofed up our service while i was gone and i haven’t had time to try to deal with it.  sometimes, a signal blows over from somewhere and i  can get my email – which is how i’m sending this post.  

i can also be seen lurking outside the mpk bachelor pad at odd hours, stealing their internet signal.  (bmao, if you see my car outside at 2 am, don’t be alarmed, i’m just pirating your signal, hence the flag)   And today, i sunk to a new level of desperation, i was actually cruising my street with my laptop open, trying to find unprotected wireless.  

sad, truly sad.  

glad that

blogger has this post via email-and-phone thing.  i’ve been away from the computer so being able to at least post to the blog makes me feel somehow like i’m not totally by myself, even though i am.  and today i sent an email from my phone – i hope it worked! anyhow, i have to leave tomorrow and i’m so sad. i don’t want to.  but i guess i have to. sigh. i haven’t taken a vacation by myself in years and i realize that i miss them.  i used to take a solo vacation once a year at least.  i think i should start that habit again.  anyhow. . i’m so sad to have to leave.  bye pretty little island, i’ll miss you!  (although i won’t miss being constantly covered in sunscreen and bugspray!)

Weird Cereal #2 -

This morning, I had my cereal in Coconut milk.  But not because I had to this time, because I wanted to. . . pretty yummy! =)
