serendipity

last night i went to hotel cafe with a lets-go-listen-to-cool-live-bands buddy. . . i forgot my camera, so i can't post a picture of the sax player who i SWEAR must be someone that somebody i know, knows. (did that make sense?) But he looks SOO almost familiar. he was very good.

anyhow, on the way there she was playing a cd that sounded familiar, and yet not. i said, i KNOW i have a CD by this band, who are they? turns out it was the new starsailor, and it turns out that we were at the SAME club when they played here last. only i didn't know her back then. i guess it's not all THAT weird, but these things trip me out.

and once again i failed to meet up with my friend who lives in hollywood. i was right by his house, but he was in silverlake. THE IRONY. . we coulda saved a lot of gas if i had just gone to the club he went to and he went to hotel cafe. But that's LA - everyone wants to be somewhere else. But i've been to hollywood 5 times in the last two months, and EVERY time BJ is either practically in a coma from overwork, or on the other side of town.
